WISD Soccer News!!
Raider Soccer News
Two Wylie East High Raiders have received All-Region and All-State honors for Boys Soccer. Senior Dylan Cook was selected an Honorable Mention All-State Goalkeeper and Senior Patrick Hoover was named an Honorable Mention All-Region Defender.
Wylie East High School also had four Lady Raiders selected for All-Region Girls Soccer honors. Marissa Edenstrom, Leslie Snider and Valiree Morris were named to the All-Region Second Team and Asia Revely is an Honorable Mention selection.
 
Leslie Snider was also selected as a member of the All North Texas Area Team.
Girls’ Soccer Head Coach Kody Christensen and Boys’ Soccer Assistant Coach Jeremy Seeton were recently named Coach of the Year and Jeremy Assistant Coach of the Year for Region 2.

Pirate Soccer News
Wylie High School has three ladies selected for Texas Association of Soccer Coaches All-Region and All-State Teams. Jennifer Hiddink was named to All State Second Team, goalkeeper. Defender Shelby Valdepena and Forward Addie Ault were selected to All-Region First Team.

Sophomore Lady Pirate Kelzy Jepsen has been invited to participate in the 2013 National Mexican Olympics scheduled for May 17 through May 24. Governed by the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), the soccer tournaments will be played in Tijuana, State of Baja California. She is the only 15 year-old selected from Texas and will play for the IME Mexican American National Team which represents the Mexicans in the United States.

Pirates at the State Track Meet
Wylie High School had two Lady Pirates qualify and compete in the UIL State Track and Field Meet held in Austin May 10 and 11.  Senior Ambra Wesley placed second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.01.  She was also named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State Team. 
 
Sophomore Andrea Nwachukwu finished fifth in the Triple Jump with a distance of 38 feet 5 ½ inches.
 
This was the first trip to state for both athletes.  Congratulations to Ambra and Andrea!
